Professio Apis Mellifera
Julie Harris, Masami Kubo
Masami Kubo and Julie Harris received the fellowship under the monikers J.D. Amber and W.B. Black for their research on the design strategies of the honeybee. Working as the President and Chairman of the Department of Integrated Apis Mellifera Developments (DIAMD), the duo adopted a satirical corporate-sublime perspective to their research. They produced reports, graphics, manifestos, products, and rituals that culminated in an installation and performance that sought to inform the public about the wisdom and importance of Honeybees.
